AmCham Sri Lanka is committed to observing Universal Business Practices
It is a fundamental philosophy of the American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka that good ethics and good business be synonymous. AmCham believes that American business plays an important role as a catalyst for positive social change by promoting both human welfare and the highest standards for ethical business practices, along with the principles of free enterprise and trade. We encourage our members to act as good corporate citizens in the markets in which they operate, and to lead the community by endorsing the following values:
1. Compliance with all applicable laws
2. Good corporate citizenship
3. Respect for the individual and the dignity of the worker
4. Training and education for all employees
5. Environmentally responsible business practices
6. Improved market access and promotion of intellectual property rights
7. High standards of professional and business ethics
AmCham Sri Lanka is fully committed to fulfilling our corporate social responsibilities, and actively supports our members’ moves towards becoming exemplary corporate citizens.
AmCham's community involvement takes many different forms, including substantial charitable donations through annual fund-raising events, youth leadership development programs, partnerships with leading institutions for social development, advocacy of intellectual property rights protection and improvements in the flow of trade, and assistance to the Government of Sri Lanka.
