U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) is a modern, consolidated agency that brings together the capabilities of OPIC and USAID’s Development Credit Authority, while introducing new and innovative financial products to better bring private capital to the developing world which have provided the U.S. with more flexibility to support investments in developing countries to drive economic growth, create stability, and improve livelihoods. DFC investments also adhere to high standards and respect the environment, human rights, and worker rights.

A Luncheon meeting with the Regional Managing Director of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) – America’s development finance institution, Ajay Rao was extended an invitation by Amcham Sri Lanka to attend a Luncheon meeting at Jaic Hilton Colombo for an educative session to introduce the importance of the DFC and their investment procedures and criteria such as energy, healthcare, critical infrastructure, and technology and how DFC provides financial assistance in emerging markets to encourage job creation.

The focal point of discussion was on how DFC partners with the private sector to finance solutions to the most critical challenges faced by corporates in the present world today.
